Show Your Local Pride During September, October Community Days

POTTSTOWN PA – As fall colors and cooler temperatures arrive with the changing calendar, so too do many community days and festivals. They are being sponsored through September and October by municipalities and organizations across Montgomery, Berks, and Chester counties.

The following, listed in dated order, are community day observances to which Travels With The Post has already been alerted.

The list currently includes those in Green Lane, Lower Frederick, Lower Pottsgrove, New Hanover, Pennsburg and East Greenville, Royersford, Schwenksville, Skippack, Upper Frederick, Upper Providence, Upper Salford, Washington, and West Pottsgrove. More are being added as received.

Sept. 3 (Thursday)

  • West Pottsgrove Township “First Responder Night and America 20th Celebration,” 6-8:30 p.m., free to attend; an event to thank township police officers and leadership, and acknowledge America’s 250th anniversary; enjoy DJ-driven music, games, and activities for all ages, as well as a display of emergency, police, fire, and military vehicles; also police K-9 demonstrations, a rock-climbing wall, give-aways, giant inflatables, face painting, a petting zoo, and food vendors; held at the West Pottsgrove municipal campus, 980 Grosstown Rd., Stowe PA

Sept 12 (Saturday)

  • “Lower Pottsgrove Community Day,” 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., free to attend; featuring police, fire, and emergency medical services displays, horse rides, face painting, balloon animals, “Batman and Chase,” several vendors, food trucks, and a bounce house; conducted rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather; held at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School, 1329 Buchert Rd., Pottstown PA
  • “Pennsburg and East Greenville Community Day,” 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., free to attend; with live music (Upper Perkiomen High School Marching Band, 10-11 a.m.; “Barefoot Bobby and the Breakers,” 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and the “Red Hill Jazz Band,” 1-2 p.m.), face painting (11 a.m. to 2 p.m.), games, crafts, food trucks (Blue Haze, Kona Ice, Spinnerstown Hotel, Dough & Co., and Chino’s Place), a pick-a-prize auction (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.), and other activities; rain date set for Sept. 13 if needed; held along Main Street (from Route 663 to East Greenville) in Pennsburg PA
  • “Royersford Community Day 2026,” 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., free to attend; featuring business displays, local and area vendors, food trucks, crafters, and non-profit organizations; volunteers welcomed, sponsorships available; organized by the Royersford Business Association; held along Main Street in downtown Royersford PA
  • “Lower Frederick Community Day,” its first such event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., free to attend; presenting local food and small business vendors, community organizations, a car show, silent auction, and other fun and entertainment; applications still being taken for sponsors, show participants, and auction donors; volunteer help also appreciated and accepted, sign up here for adults, and here for students; for more information or to get involved, send an e-mail to staff@lowerfrederick.org; held at Perkiomen Valley Middle School West, 41 Swamp Creek Rd., Schwenksville PA

  • “Skippack Township Community Day,” 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., free to attend; described as “a fun-filled celebration of neighbors, local organizations, and community pride,” with local vendors, and live entertainment, and booths from the Skippack Historical Society and other community organizations;” held at the Montgomery County 4-H Center, 1015 Bridge Rd., Collegeville PA

Sept. 19 (Saturday)

  • “Community Fall Fest 2026” in Upper Providence Township, times TBA, free to attend; held entirely outdoors, includes children’s activities, food vendors, music, a beer garden, and an expo showcasing local businesses, their products, and services; for more information send an e-mail to uptparksandrec@gmail.com; held at the township’s Anderson Farm Park, 499 Hopwood Rd., Collegeville PA
  • Schwenksville Community Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., free to attend; planned by the borough Activity Committee, includes vendor booths for artworks, crafts, and merchandise, Bluey and Bingo characters, a bounce slide, face painting, an Orbitron rock wall, a petting zoo, an emergency vehicle touch-a-truck, a chili cook-off with prizes awarded, free massages, and other activities; all proceeds benefit future borough community activities; held in Meadow Park, 300 Main St., Schwenksville PA
  • New Hanover Township “Fall Frolic,” noon to 5 p.m., free to attend; “an afternoon of family fun and fall festivities,” with bounce houses, inflatables, live music, a rock wall, petting zoo, pony rides, food, games, and chances to “make lasting memories with friends and neighbors;” rain date set for Sept. 20 if needed; held at Hickory Park, 2140 Big Rd., Gilbertsville PA

  • Montgomery County 15th Annual Bird and Wildlife Festival, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., free to attend; see nature up close, accompanied by live music, a barn nature center, and eco-raffle; vendors will sell local honey, natural soaps and maple syrup; includes fun for children and other activities; held at the county’s Green Lane Park, 2144 Snyder Rd., Green Lane PA
  • “Upper Frederick Community Day,” 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., free to attend; offering a wide range of activities, including a rock-climbing wall, bungee trampoline, axe throwing, food vendors, a bake-off, a helicopter landing, and a local farmers and crafters market; for more information, send an e-mail to info@upperfrederick.org; held at Frederick Friendship Park, 3205 Big Rd., Zieglerville PA

  • Washington Township Fall Festival, 1-8 p.m., free to attend; with a bounce house and slide, face painting, potato sack races, and free kids crafts, also features a petting zoo, axe throwing, hay rides, free s’mores treats, and hot chocolate by a bonfire; yard games, pumpkin bowling, and a sidewalk chalk art contest also are planned; held at at Barto Community Park, 120 Barto Rd., Barto PA

  • Montgomery County “All Hallows Eve Fall Festival,” noon to 4 p.m., free admission (family-friendly; a suggested donation of $2 per person is appreciated); enjoy an afternoon of old-fashioned fall fun as kids make crafts, paint pumpkins, shuck corn, press apples into cider, play games, complete a scavenger hunt, and take a hayride around the meadow; however, the on-site mansion will be closed for the day; held at the county’s Pennypacker Mills historic site, 5 Haldeman Rd., Schwenksville PA

Local Assets Shine on Community Days

Community day events give local townships, boroughs, and counties the opportunity to show off both their well-known and hidden assets.

  • Many will bring in trucks and equipment from their fire and ambulance companies. They are always a big hit with young children;
  • Parks and recreation departments often take the lead in creating fun events, games and activities for everyone in the family;
  • Local vendors and non-profit groups provide services too. Some offer entertainment. Some sell a variety of foods and beverages. Some give community day visitors a chance to do holiday shopping in advance; and
  • Elected officials – and those who hope to be – will make appearances to see, be seen, and chat with constituents.
