KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Veterans Day will be observed Nov. 11 (Wednesday morning) with a special mass and reception at historic Washington Memorial Chapel, 2000 Valley Forge Park Rd.
The 11 a.m. event will honor “the generations of American men and women whose courage, commitment, and sacrifice have helped safeguard the nation’s freedom,” the chapel’s Veterans Commission says.
Its Choral Matins Mass will pay tribute to, and honor the dedication of, veterans of all wars. Chapel carillon bells will toll at 11 a.m. in remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Following the mass, attendees are invited to a reception. It offers opportunities to connect with fellow veterans, honor their experiences, and celebrate a spirit of service.
The Veterans Day mass and reception are free to attend and open to the public. A suggested $10 donation is welcomed.

A Distinguished Guest Speaker
This year’s observance bears added significance with its guest speaker, former Pennsylvania Adjutant General and retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Wesley E. Craig Jr. In serving as the 51st adjutant general, Craig oversaw the state’s Army and Air National Guard, six state veterans’ homes, and programs serving about 1 million Pennsylvania veterans.
An Oreland PA resident, the distinguished 40-year military veteran “brings a unique perspective on the responsibilities and lasting impact of military service,” according to the commission. Craig has “dedicated his career to leading those who defend the nation, and supporting those who have worn its uniform,” it adds.
His numerous military and state honors include the Army Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.
