PENNSBURG PA – Whether you’re an adult or child, Legos-brand toys are inescapable attractions for the senses.
Users’ fingers glide across their smooth plastic texture. They snap together with a satisfyingly audible click. Also, after years of study and observation, researchers say the blocks tend to unite users: they get swapped and shared.
For all those reasons, or maybe just because building with Legos is a fun thing to do, the Schwenkfelder Library and Heritage Center has you, your family, and their friends in mind Saturday (Aug. 29, 2026).
The center, at 105 Seminary St., will conduct a “seasonal Saturday” program it calls “A LEGO Build Day.”
Come in, play, create something – small or extravagant, unicolor or multicolor, with moving parts or not – and have a good time. Younger children, the center suggests, may need the assistance of a parent or guardian.
By the way, it’s free. There’s no charge for museum admission or parking. The Build Day program is free as well, thanks to the support of Key Bank.

The Schwenkfelder asks for your help in preparing for the day. Register yourself and those attending with you in advance. Send an e-mail to meredith@schwenkfelder.org, or call 215-679-3101. The center’s staff wants to ensure there’s plenty of necessary items on hand.
If you’ve never visited the center, only a 14-mile drive from Pottstown, also check out its several permanent and changing exhibits. They include a special limited-time showing of intricately adorned Southeastern Pennsylvania Longrifles.
The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center is the regional history museum for the Upper Perkiomen Valley. It is open Tuesdays through Sundays with free admission to visit exhibits, or conduct research in its library.
