Two Area Firms to Lower Energy Costs with PA Grants

August 11, 2026

HARRISBURG PA – Two companies in Montgomery and Berks counties will benefit from millions in grant funds distributed statewide Monday (Aug. 10, 2026). The money is intended to help small businesses reduce energy costs and greenhouse gas emissions.

Both local firms are among 15 winners of about $3.5 million in “RISE PA Small-Scale Award Track” grants. They were issued by Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection (DEP).

Receiving grants locally were:

  • Accupac, which operates in Harleysville (Montgomery County), is receiving $149,303. The company formulates, manufactures, packages and creates products for personal care and beauty markets. It will use its grant to “replace existing indoor lighting with highly efficient LED lighting and fixtures,” the DEP says. The department estimates Accupac will annually save $19,058 in energy costs; and
  • New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. Inc., which operates in Leesport, Fleetwood, and Kutztown (Berks County), will receive $496,383. The family-owned firm produces construction materials, and also is a heavy highway contractor. The DEP says its grant will “electrify processes at (a) crushing plant by replacing two diesel generators with line power.” Its annual estimated energy savings should amount to $45,383 yearly, the department adds.

Saving Energy, Reducing Emissions

RISE PA offers grants for small-, medium-, and large-scale projects at industrial facilities.

Overall, the 15 projects are estimated to collectively save Pennsylvania companies more than $470,000 in energy costs. They also should reduce approximately 2,500 metric tons of first-year greenhouse gas emissions, according to the department.

“Pennsylvania has a long industrial history. These RISE PA grants are helping manufacturers build their business with lower energy costs, create more energy-focused jobs, and reduce air pollution for surrounding communities,” said DEP Secretary Jessica Shirley reports.
