POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown’s sixth annual Sidewalk Chalk Festival, in which anyone from talented artists to dedicated doodlers can show off on-the-spot creations, returns to the borough’s downtown Saturday (June 27, 2026).
Chalk dust is expected to fly from 9 a.m. to noon. The festival is being hosted by Pottstown FARM, the community’s Farm and Artisan Regional Market, in Smith Family Plaza at 100 E. High St. It is sponsored by Pottstown Community Arts, a committee of the MOSAIC Community Land Trust and headed by its founder, local artist Marie Haigh.
The festival is free to attend and open to the public. All the chalk anyone needs (and, frankly, that’s a whole lotta chalk), is being supplied. There’s plenty of space for creating masterpiece visions. “All you have to do,” the committee suggests, “is bring your imagination.” Additionally the festival will feature two guest artists, Alyssa Rulli and Melissa Rulli.
So the committee can adequately plan for all who attend, advance registration is requested by sending an e-mail topottstownarts@gmail.com, or by dropping a note on the Pottstown Community Arts’ Facebook or Instagram pages. For more information about the event, call 610-574-8016.

Non-Artists and Amateurs Welcome!
“You don’t need to be an artist to participate,” the folks at Pottstown FARM remind visitors. Even better, the Chalk Festival will be a great way to keep kids busy and entertained while others shop the FARM.
Its many vendors offer fresh vegetables, meats, and cheeses; an assortment of hand-crafted beverages; and a variety of hand-made and artistic products.
On its Facebook page, Pottstown Community Arts has spent the past several days looking back at the creations of artists during earlier chalk festivals. For those looking for inspiration, see its latest reels online.
