Free Health Fair Thursday at Ricketts Center

POTTSTOWN PA – A free Community Health Fair that offers a variety of medically related screening services and helpful community information will be held Thursday (May 14, 2026) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Richard J. Ricketts Community Center, 658 Beech St.

Participants can take advantage of no-cost screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, behavioral health, women’s health, dental health, and weight loss. Booths and representatives of area organizations also will be on hand to offer supportive information that benefits personal and family well-being.

The center is operated by Boyertown Area Multi-Service, and is considered its “hub of athletic, educational, recreational, and wellness activities.” It specific focus is on “on after-school programming for Pottstown youth.”

‘Stop The Bleed’ Program Offered Free in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN PA – A free community training session to teach individuals how to stop life-threatening bleeding in others is scheduled to be held Saturday (May 16, 2026) from 10-11 a.m. at the Anno Artem Gallery, 1 Security Plz. Ste. 202.

Zoë Galyon will be the instructor for Saturday’s event.

The “Stop The Bleed” training program was developed by the American College of Surgeons as a means of stopping bleeding-related deaths. The college reports it is “the largest global provider of bleeding control training,” and also is the original Stop The Bleed partner of the U.S. Department of Defense.

The worldwide program is considered highly successful, and is in demand in Pennsylvania. More than 50 live training courses, including the Pottstown session, are scheduled statewide from May through December, according to its website. Courses also are available online.

For more information on the Pottstown course, call 267-834-5337. Participants also can register for the course in advance online.
