Pottstown Observes Juneteenth with Free Activities

Pottstown Observes Juneteenth with Free Activities

May 11, 2026

POTTSTOWN PA – Juneteenth, the June 19 federal holiday observed annually to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, will be celebrated early this year in downtown Pottstown with “a full day of music, community events and family-friendly activities,” organizers say.

The free program is scheduled for June 13 (Saturday) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on East High Street between Charlotte and Hanover streets. It includes live performances, a basketball tournament, a Juneteenth pageant, and a DJ competition.

Trucks, vendors, and local businesses will offer food, beverages, and other products available for purchase. Booths, tables, and spaces occupied by area artists, performers, and community groups also are expected.

Sponsors say the theme for this year’s observance is “Our Vision. Our Voice. Our Vibe,” reinforced “through storytelling, education, creative expression, and community engagement.” The day intends to create “generational impact by connecting elders, families, and youth in shared learning, leadership, and cultural pride.”

Also, A Meet-And-Greet Session

The day additionally provides opportunities to meet with performing celebrities and others during the day. They are scheduled during a ticketed meet-and-greet session from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at The Vibe Café, 249 E. High St. It also will offer live performances in the building by artists Lola, DJ Diamond Kuts, Son of The 215, and Wilde Tuna.

Meet-and-greet attendance is limited to those age 18 and older. The session is presented by CoCo Land Entertainment, Be Rezillent, and the PowerUp Foundation. Tickets are available online.

The celebration is anticipated to conclude with a ticketed Juneteenth “Black Excellence” Gala, separately scheduled for June 19 (Friday) starting at 6:30 p.m. in Bear Creek Resort, 101 Doe Mountain Dr., Macungie PA. It is planned to support “scholarships for local graduating seniors,” as well as to recognize “leaders who are building generational impact in our community.” Tickets for the gala also are available online.
