In Dec. 7 Philharmonic Concert, Phoenixville Transforms Into ‘Oz’

October 30, 2025

PHOENIXVILLE PA – Two Broadway stars, and musicians of the Pennsylvania Philharmonic, are offering a fanciful trip from Phoenixville to Oz for the winter holiday season.

Performers Julie Rieber as Elphaba, and Emily Rozek as Glinda, will join the orchestra to present what’s described as “a concert of diva showstoppers” in “Good Witch, Bad Witch, The Broadway Witches.” The show is scheduled for Dec. 7 (2025; Sunday) starting at 2:30 p.m. in Phoenixville Area Middle School, 1000 Purple Pride Pkwy. Tickets are available online.

“Wicked” highlights of the show include iconic songs like “Defying Gravity,” “Popular,” and “For Good”. Additionally, according to the Philharmonic, the 90-minute concert “sparkles with a vibrant mix of Broadway brilliance to the sultry, jazz-soaked world of Chicago.”

Its set list also offers “All That Jazz;” “the witty charm of My Fair Lady, where songs like ‘I Could Have Danced All Night’ transport the audience to a refined yet playful London;” Waitress, in which ‘She Used to Be Mine’ “offers a tender, soul-baring moment of vulnerability and resilience,” and other songs.

The concert is suitable for all ages. Parking is free.

Reiber has been busy this year with a variety of projects, including recordings for Disney’s newest Snow White film, and performances during October with the Kansas City Symphony. Rozek, founder of Rozek Studio, was most recently seen starring as Glinda in the Los Angeles production of “Wicked.”

Since its founding in 2014, the Pennsylvania Philharmonic has pursued a mission “to introduce young minds to quality classical music, and bring an enriching musical experience to communities around the state.”

Earlier this year, during July, it offered a “Celebrate America” concert of American music at The Hill School in Pottstown. It featured selections by Copeland, Joplin, the Gershwins, Ellington, and Bernstein.

The show also is scheduled for Dec. 14 (Sunday) at Bucks County Community College, 275 Swamp Rd., Newtown PA. VIP Experience packages that “include souvenir items, and a meet and greet with the witches,” are available for both locations.

Sponsoring the Philharmonic’s music education mission are Cody Systems, Ellis Investment Partners LLC, The Hankin Group, Liswhit LLC, Switchpoint Foundation, The Hill School, SEI Investments, Justamere Foundation, Joe and Linda Voytilla, and the Scott and Susan Bentley Fund.
