Vehicle Procession to Lead POWs, MIAs Remembrance Day

POWs, MIAs Remembrance Day Led by Vehicle Procession

September 11, 2023

POTTSTOWN PA – Veterans, family members, and the public will take time Sept. 17 (2023; Sunday) to observe “Prisoners of War (POWs) and Missing in Action (MIAs) Recognition Day” in Pottstown, organizers among the Friends of the Forgotten Inc. reported.

A gathering of motorcycles and other vehicles bound for the observance will muster Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. outside the Limerick Diner, 411 Ridge Pk., Limerick. The procession expects to leave the diner at 11:30 a.m., and arrive shortly thereafter on Veterans Island in Pottstown’s Memorial Park. Visitors are suggested to use the park entrance at 251 Manatawny St., Pottstown.

The event will be held rain or shine. Its ceremony will include featured speakers, and a reading of names of all Vietnam POWs and MIAs in Pennsylvania. Public attendance is welcomed and encouraged, both at the muster and events at the island.
