DOUGLASSVILLE PA – Its Facebook page proclaims the space is “temporarily closed.” That notice notwithstanding, Chef Sam Abbas has every reason to believe his new 724 Bistro restaurant, at 2295 E. Main St., will open “soon.”
Abbas is patient. On Wednesday (Nov. 4, 2026), he said he was simply awaiting a final approval from an inspector. Once the paperwork is in hand, the chef expects the restaurant will be up and running in no time.
Its name is a nod to state Route 724, of which East Main Street is a part. The location is just a short distance beyond the highway’s intersection with Red Corner Road.
Photos taken at 724 Bistro show it likely will be as much an eye-opener as potentially pleasing to the palette. Many of its tables are decorated with colorful images sealed under hand-dried resin, a creative hobby Abbas enjoys.

Nearby, on the interior walls, are new visual creations by artist Carrie Kingsbury of Promisedland Murals.
Other restaurants occupied the space earlier. Few if any vestiges of those predecessors remain in the colorful new decor. “I’ve re-done the entire inside,” Abbas happily reports. “It’s all changed.”
For those who prefer dining al fresco, an ample outdoor dining area is only steps beyond the restaurant door.
