POTTSTOWN PA – The YWCA Tri-County Area on Saturday (Oct. 24, 2026) will transform the 300 block of King Street into a community event featuring games, entertainment, food, community resources, and other activities.
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. A DJ will keep the beat, it promises, accompanied by a balloon artist, face painting, cookie decoration, fish pond, and a variety of arts and crafts projects.
The YWCA’s non-profit and government partners will share information and resources. Vendors and local business also are participating. Internal YWCA departments will be available to describe programming opportunities, including many giveaways such as coats, backpacks, socks, diapers and more.
The block event intends to bring together “members of the community to raise awareness about community violence, and learn how to take action to end it.”
YWCA Looks to End Gender and Community Violence
For more than 20 years, YWCA associations across the United States have observed their “Week Without Violence” campaigns during the third week of October. They share “a common goal of ending gender-based and community violence,” the local YWCA says.
Event sponsors include Hobart’s Run, The Hill School, Oceans Healthcare, Action Karate, Impact Athletics, and Bloom.
The YWCA Tri-County Area “is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.” It advocates for women and girls, and works to eliminate racism.
It also seeks to empower “women through quality affordable early childhood education, adult literacy, youth education and enrichment,” and other programs to support the health and success of women, girls, and families.
