POTTSTOWN PA – Pottstown’s “The Blue Elephant” restaurant and bar, 152 E. High St., is getting a second sibling.

Its family company owner, WIN Hospitality, started a second restaurant of the same name in Wayne PA during late February 2023. Now WIN Hospitality has announced it will open a third Blue Elephant in Ardmore PA this November.
In Pottstown, The Blue Elephant opened in the borough during September 2019. The restaurant is known for “Italian-Thai dishes, with Japanese influences and a variety of sushi selections.”
Its name was inspired by a photograph discovered earlier in the former bank offices it now occupies. The picture shows “a group of elephants walking down High Street,” its website explains.
Upon its launch, diners’ reviews applauded The Blue Elephant’s chefs and its Asian fusion menu. Guests still marvel at its interior decor.
The Pottstown restaurant retains the bank’s “original brass work, bank vaults and light fixtures.” It also features a 10-foot fountain in the main dining room. Mediterranean olive trees and green tea bushes bring the space alive with greenery. They compliment its plush velvet blue booths, and light blue curtains.

A 35-Year History of Dining Experiences
WIN Hospitality has a 35-year history of creating and operating dining experiences. Online news outlet Whatnow Philadelphia, in a Thursday (Oct. 15) article by author Courtney McGinley, says the business is about to mark “a full-circle moment.”
The first restaurant the family opened decades ago – then named Thai Pepper, at 66 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore – will be renovated to become The Blue Elephant. Considered a “fun refresh” by its owners, according to McGinley, the restaurant is expected to seat up to 80 guests.
As it does in Pottstown, management tells McGinley the Ardmore make-over will pay “homage to the foundation of the building, catering to the space.”
Additionally, WIN Hospitality continues to operate the renamed Mikado Thai Pepper immediately next door, at 64 E. Lancaster Ave. Beyond that it has another restaurant in Wayne, and one each in Newtown Square, Media, and Radnor PA.
