NORRISTOWN PA – Thirteen businesses, organizations and individuals, a majority of which operate or have locations within western Montgomery County, are among initial sponsors of the local Black Author & Business Expo, scheduled for August.
The community event will be held Aug. 22 (2026, Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Hall D of the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave., Oaks PA. It celebrates “Black authors, entrepreneurs, creatives, and thought leaders through networking, literacy, and economic empowerment.”
The event occurs during Black Business Month, according to a media release from the county government communications office. The county is one of the event’s partners, with planning from its Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and its Commerce Department.
Admission to the expo is free and open to the public. Those interested in attending are encouraged to register in advance online.
Already named as sponsors are ACLAMO, Alpha Kappa Alpha, BeReZilient, Bucks-Mont Collaborative, Creative Health Services, Community Dialogues For Action, Electro Soft, F.O.R.C.E., Karla Trotman, Maternity Care Coalition, NAACP Main Line Branch, Valencia Key, and YWCA Tri-County Area.

What to Discover
Those who attend “will discover new Black authors and learn about their journeys into becoming the authors they are today,” the county reports. “A broad selection of Black-owned businesses will be in attendance to connect with the local community.”
Workshops on entrepreneurship, financial wellness, literacy, and leadership will be available. They will offer participants “valuable knowledge applicable to their personal, professional, or financial endeavors,” the county adds.
It indicates vendors include Black authors, small and Black-owned businesses, food vendors, publishers, marketing professionals, business support services, financial literacy and access-to-capital organizations, technology, AI, and business resource providers, wellness and stress management supporters, youth engagement and education-focused organizations, and community resources organizations.
