PENNSBURG PA – A new exhibit of contemporary quilts is available for viewing through Nov. 5 (2026; Thursday) at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, 105 Seminary St.
The quilt show, which opened July 5, is titled “From Gifts of Love to Finding My Artistic Voice.” It presents the talents of Quakertown artist Jamee Pemberton, as an exploration of how she turned a gift-making hobby into a means of artistic expression.
The exhibit is free to attend during the heritage center’s regular hours. It is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1-4pm.
The center also will host an an opening reception for the artist, scheduled for July 15 (Wednesday) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited to it, as well; light refreshments will be served.
The Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center is the regional history center for the Upper Perkiomen Valley. It often displays works by contemporary artists as part of its mission.

Up Next: Southeastern Pennsylvania Long-Rifles
Opening July 18 (Saturday) at the heritage center is a new exhibit that is part of its commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. It is titled “Southeastern Pennsylvania Long-rifles – The Early Years.”
Long-rifles were finely crafted works of art that developed from the European tradition,” the center explains. They were adorned with beautiful relief and incised carving. Provided to the museum on loan from collectors, the long-rifles exhibit will showcase the workmanship and origins of these firearms.
The exhibit is produced in collaboration with the Kentucky Rifle Foundation. It will remain open for public viewing during the heritage center’s regular operating hours. “Southeastern Pennsylvania Long-rifles – The Early Years” is scheduled to close Oct. 18 (Sunday).
