Mobile Coach Serving Lehigh Valley Health Needs

Mobile Coach to Serve Lehigh Valley Health Needs

June 1, 2026

EASTON PA – The latest coach launched by healthcare provider Jefferson Health will benefit Easton PA and surrounding Northampton County residents. All are served in part by a hospital that is part of Jefferson’s Lehigh Valley Health Network subsidiary.

Its dedication of a new mobile health care unit was planned for Tuesday (June 2, 2026) at 10 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hecktown Oaks, 3780 Hecktown Rd. Jefferson officials say the event – including a ribbon-cutting, a turn of a key, and the start of its engine – would “fuel more healthcare access to more people” in the service area.

The motor coach is equipped with two exam rooms. It offers patients opportunities to get vaccines, blood work, and tests. Also available is virtual care technology that allows patients to connect with their clinicians. Coach services can be used at specialty and community events, as well.

Additionally the coach can partner with schools at health events, and with businesses to launch employer wellness initiatives. Because of its mobility, the hospital says its coach is anticipated to “bridge the gap to primary care services, and allow services to be delivered where healthcare access is geographically challenging or economically disproportionate.”

Providing Direct Community Care

Tours of the coach were offered during the dedication. Lisa Liddington, the hospital’s chief operating officer, and emergency medicine physician Eric Bean, DO, were scheduled as its primary speakers.

The coach is said to be Jefferson Health’s latest example of direct community care. It also supplies mobile mammography coaches, so women across the region have a convenient way to be screened for breast cancer. Its “Miles of Smiles” van, part of Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital, travels to schools to provide dental care for students.

Lehigh Valley Hospital-Gilbertsville, located at 1109 Grosser Rd., Gilbertsville PA, also is part of the Lehigh Valley Health Network.
