POTTSTOWN PA – Taste the sweetness, and smack your lips, during the June 6 (2026; Saturday) return of the Lower Pottsgrove Historical Society Strawberry Festival. It’s expected to be filled with fun, food, entertainment and – of course – ripe, juicy, and delicious strawberries.
The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the grounds of Sanatoga Chapel, 2341 E. High St. Its location is both a township landmark and home of the society’s museum and offices.
The Strawberry Festival has for years been a harbinger of the summer season. It features a variety of treats created with the bright red fruit; barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, and other lunch items; home-baked goods and soft pretzels, and several beverages, including those offered at the Hares Hill Brewing Company beer garden.
Live entertainment will be provided by musicians and singers John Derk and Tara Reber. Adults and kids alike can enjoy a trivia contest and games. Tours of the historic chapel and the society’s collections will be available.
Local, but regionally and nationally famous, celebrities also tend to show up on festival day to meet with fans and talk with former neighbors. There will be plenty of comfortable seating and tables, the property abounds in mature shade trees, and parking is free and readily available.

Also returning this year is the popular society “Gift Card Tree” raffle. It provides visitors with opportunities to win value-laden gift cards, good for purchases at local and nationally known merchants and retailers.
Local sponsors are welcome to join the event and support its activities. For sponsorship information or to make a donation call Jim Bauer at 484-366-5749 or contact him by e-mail at jbauer609@comcast.net; call Amy Daniels at 610-858-0111; or send an e-mail to the society at lphschapel@gmail.com.
The non-profit, volunteer-operated society exists to preserve contributions Sanatoga and Lower Pottsgrove Township have made to the area’s history. It meets on the second Wednesday monthly at 7 p.m. in the chapel. Both visitors and new members are welcome to attend.
The soeciety also holds a museum open house during the spring and fall.
