POTTSTOWN PA – Predictions of rainy weather expected Monday morning (May 25, 2026) have prompted officials in both Pottstown, and Collegeville–Trappe, to cancel their earlier scheduled Memorial Day parades.
Neither parade will be held, and there are no plans to re-schedule them. However, organizers for both also planned memorial services to honor the fallen, and those services will be held.

Pottstown’s Cancellation
In Pottstown on its Facebook page, parade sponsor the Pottstown Joint Veterans Council announced “unfortunately we’ve had to cancel” the anticipated event. “The forecast is for more rain, and the conditions aren’t favorable for a parade,” it acknowledged.
But it also asked area residents to “please join us tomorrow (Monday) at 10:30 a.m. at Goodwill Fire Company, 714 E. High St., for a solemn ceremony to honor local veterans.”
The Collegeville-Trappe Cancellation
In Collegeville, the borough Economic Development Corporation website reported “we are cancelling our 2026 Memorial Day Parade and the Community Day events at Waterworks Park.” It attributed the decision “to the significant chance of rain showers predicted throughout the day on Monday.”
“In addition to being a miserable day weather-wise,” the statement added, “the ground at the park is soaked, prohibiting us from parking cars on the playing field.”
Its “Remembrance Service” for those who died serving the nation in war “will be moved indoors Monday to Verge Church, 106 W. 3rd Ave. Trappe, and will start at 11 a.m.”
Remaining Parades
An earlier story published Saturday (May 23) by Travels with The Post also described other Monday parades previously planned within the TriCounty Region. As of Sunday (May 24) afternoon, Travels had not yet been informed of the status of the following events. Anyone considering attending them should first check if they will be held.
The Birdsboro parade was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. from Daniel Boone High School, 501 Chestnut St. Along the route, the parade intended to make stops at American Legion Post 626, Birdsboro Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 411, the Birdsboro Veterans Memorial, and Birdsboro-Union Fire Company. Wreaths and honors would be presented at each stop. The parade was planned to end with a 10 a.m. ceremony at the veterans memorial.
In Boyertown, its Memorial Day parade was scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. from the Monroe Street entrance of Boyertown High School. A memorial ceremony at at Fairview Cemetery was scheduled for 10 a.m.
The Kennett Square parade was set to step off at 10 a.m. from the corner of South and Union streets in the borough. A ceremony was to be held at its conclusion in Union Hill Cemetery.
