POTTSTOWN PA – Kids have opportunities to climb aboard vehicles that fascinate them, and parents and grandparents can watch with enjoyment, as they also support the third annual Pottstown Children’s Discovery Center “Climb On It Fund-Raiser.”
The May 30 (Saturday) event, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., benefits and will be held outside the center, 95 S. Hanover St. The fun is planned in the large parking lot between the center and the Pottstown bus station.
Youngsters can explore, climb into, and around an ambulance, police car, fire truck, school bus, tractor, utility trucks, and military and other vehicles. Additional attractions are activities and games, the Wow Wagon food truck, give-aways, and raffles.
A special feature of “Climb On It” is its Youth Makers’ Space and market, at which entrepreneurs age 16 and younger can create, showcase, and sell self-made products. Spaces for sellers are limited; registration is available online until slots are filled.
Makers’ Space vendors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Makers will be responsible for managing their own tables sales and payments. Best of all, market participants will keep 100% of their profits, according to the center.
Buy Tickets Online or On-Site
Admission to “Climb On It” costs $8 per person, or $35 for a family of five or more individuals in the same household. Advance registration for wrist-band tickets is available online. Tickets also can be purchased on-site at a registration tent near the sidewalk, organizers say.
It is separate from admission to the center itself, which will be open as usual from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center’s activities and exhibits are designed to both delight and educate kids, and keep them occupied for hours.
