Rain Forces Grandview to Cancel Saturday Races

April 19, 2026
Grandview Can’t Catch A Break with Stormy Weather

BECHTELSVILLE PA – It couldn’t last for long.

The first three weeks of April racing at Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd., went off without a hitch. The track and its audiences enjoyed what promoters called “outstanding weather, including temperatures in the 70s and low 80s,” and plenty of sunshine.

Alas, April showers finally arrived Saturday (April 25, 2026). They have forced the first cancellation of Grandview’s racing program this year. Rain in Berks County fell during morning hours. More is forecast throughout the afternoon and into the evening. Track managers decided there’s “no chance to hold racing action on Saturday.”

Every cloud carries a silver lining, though. Last year (the 2025 season) saw rain cancellations for all but one April event. The remainders were wash-outs.

Attention now turns to May 2 (Saturday) for another program of racing under the NASCAR Local Racing Series for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds and the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman. The track also will host the Keystone Sports Compact Series, sponsored by Hoffman Speed Supplies and Hoffman Discount Parts in New Tripoli PA.

Read an earlier story below, published April 19 by Travels With The Post, describing the racing program that has been canceled.

Grandview Plans Qualifiers, Features, Trivia Night

BECHTELSVILLE PA – Another local racing series, including qualifying events and features for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment NASCAR Modifieds and NASCAR Sportsman, will be presented Saturday (April 25, 2026) at Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd. The first race of the evening gets the green flag at 6 p.m.

Saturday’s show provides a 30-lap T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modified feature, and a 25-lap feature for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman. Pit gates will open at 3 p.m., and grandstand gates at 4 p.m.

Additionally, the Saturday program also features the racing season’s first Trivia Night. Fans can win prizes after correctly answering questions about Grandview Speedway racing. The game has become a fun and very popular attraction on its race programs.

Grandstand admission costs $20 for adults; $10, for students age 10-15 with identification; and children ages 9 and younger are admitted free. Pit admission is $35 for NASCAR members, and $45 for non-members.

May 9 and 19 Special Events

The second special event of the season for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds is just around the corner on May 9 (Saturday), with Grandview presenting twin 25-lap features. The show will include the usual slate of qualifying, plus a full show for the T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman.

Anticipation also is building for the return of the Levan Machine & Truck Equipment “Thunder on the Hill” racing series opener. It’s the Kyle Larson/Brad Sweet Interstate Batteries High Limit 410 Sprint Car Series, scheduled for May 19 (Tuesday) and starting at 7:30 p.m. A May 20 (Wednesday) rain date is planned if needed. Tickets will be available in advance online.

Grandstand gates for the May 19 event will open at 4:30 p.m. for advance ticket holders. General admission tickets go on sale at 5 p.m. at the main entrance. Following opening ceremonies, heat race qualifying will take the green flag at 7:35 p.m.

On Grandview’s calendar, as well, are:

  • May 8 (Friday) at 7 p.m., Outlaw Racing Series Enduro and Vintage, Keystone Sport Compact Series, Kids Candy Scramble; and
  • May 16 (Saturday) at 6:30 p.m., T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Modifieds, T.P. Trailers & Truck Equipment Sportsman.

Grandview Speedway has offered NASCAR stock car racing and special events since the 1960s, generally from April through October. The track is located just off state Route 100, 10 miles north of Pottstown. For more information call 610-754-7688.
