NORRISTOWN PA – Advance registration appointments at events to recycle hazardous household waste in Montgomery County (MontCo) are now available, the county Planning Commission reports.

During 2026, MontCo will operate six separate hazardous household waste collection events between April 25 (Saturday) and Oct. 11 (Sunday).

Additionally three similar events in, and operated by, Chester County will be available to MontCo residents by appointment between April 18 (Saturday) and Oct. 4 (Sunday). Chester County residents, in turn, can book appointments at the MontCo events under a municipal cooperative agreement.

So far, one other hazardous household waste event available to only Berks County residents also is scheduled. Labeled as the county’s Spring 2026 Collection, it is planned for April 11 (Saturday) from 8 a.m. to noon at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School, 600 Governor Dr., Reading. Find it online.

A list of the MontCo and Chester events, with links to their registration sites, appears below. Appointment hours for each may vary, but seem to run from between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. A limited number of appointment slots is provided within each half-hour.
