LOWER FREDERICK PA – “The God of the Woods” by author Liz Moore, “a literary thriller about two disappearances from a wealthy family’s summer camp in the Adirondacks,” will be featured for discussion April 18 (2026; Saturday) by members of the Lower Frederick Township Book Club.
Moore’s novel is a highly acclaimed New York Times best-seller, and one of the newspaper’s “Notable Books of the Year.” Published during 2024, it won an Anthony Award in 2025. It also was claimed by People Magazine as its “Number 1 Book of the Year.”
The gathering is free to attend and open to the public. No registration or commitment is required, but the group asks participants to “bring some ideas for future book club recommendations!” The club will meet from 10 a.m. to noon on the fourth floor of the Engage Art Studio, 1005 N. Gravel Pike, Schwenksville PA.
Parking is available in the studio’s upper lot. Light refreshments that include coffee, assorted bagels and cream cheese, and fruit are sponsored by Barrister’s Bagels.
Newcomers are encouraged to attend, and join members in contributing to the discussion. The group suggests participants bring a copy of the book, any notes they may have taken, and “your chatty self.”
The club got its start in May 2024 as an activity of the township Parks and Recreation Board. The group also offers its free and official Lower Frederick Township Book Club bookmark to take home.
