POTTSTOWN PA – The Pottstown School District presents an all-district musical, “Disney’s Descendants,” in the Stanley Davenport Performing Arts Center at Pottstown Senior High School, 750 N. Washington St. Performances are scheduled for March 20 and 27 (Fridays) at 7 p.m., March 21 and 28 (Saturdays) at 7 p.m., and March 22 and 29 (Sundays) at 2 p.m.

An additional March 28 show at noon is sensory-friendly, and free to the public with open and unreserved seating. Online or in-person donations will be appreciated, but are not required.
Here’s the storyline, according to Music Theatre International:
“Imprisoned on the Isle of the Lost, home of the most infamous villains who ever lived, the teenaged children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Jafar, and Cruella De Vil have never ventured off the island … until now. When the four troublemakers are sent to attend prep school alongside the children of beloved Disney heroes, they have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents’ wicked footsteps, or learn to be good?”
A Musical ‘Experience’
As the school’s 12th musical “experience,” the show includes a full orchestra, concessions from various school groups, and full-color playbills to take” as souvenirs.
“Disney’s Descendants” also is a highlight of the annual Foundation for Pottstown Education Celebration of the Arts on March 21. Its show will be accompanied by a backstage tour representing “the magic behind the music,” displays of senior high school student artwork, and live music by two high school ensembles.
Celebration guests also will enjoy what the foundation describes as “an incredible dinner” in the high school cafeteria, produced by Pottstown’s culinary arts program. The arts celebration is separately ticketed, with information online.
