Washington Twp. Hosts Fall Festival, Crafts Show Oct. 11

October 4, 2025

BARTO PA – Free events in two adjacent Barto locations are expected to keep Washington Township (Berks County) residents entertained and occupied Oct. 11 (2025; Saturday). They’ve been planned over several months by the township and its Parks and Recreation Board.

The Fall Festival, from 1-8 p.m.

The day kicks off at 1 p.m. with the Washington Fall Festival at Barto Community Park, in the township municipal complex at 120 Barto Rd. It runs until 8 p.m., is open to the public, and includes food, games, and several activities.

Anticipated to keep children of all ages smiling are kids’ crafts, face painting, a bounce house and obstacle course, pumpkin bowling, and a petting zoo. Families can also enjoy S’mores, a hay ride, potato sack races, a sidewalk chalk art contest, and a variety of yard games. Adults are likely to be interested in axe throwing, and a cornhole tournament.

Additionally, members of the Bally Community Ambulance Association and Eastern Berks Fire Department will be on hand to meet and greet the public. There’s live music to accompany the fun as well; John Valerio will perform from 2-5 p.m.

The Fall Festival is made possible by sponsorships from Longacre’s Dairy and Walmart. In case of inclement weather, a rain date is scheduled for Oct. 12 (Sunday). For more information about the event, send an e-mail to parks@washtwpberks.org.

The Craft Fair, from 1-5 p.m.

Also Oct. 11, from 1-5 p.m., the Fall Festival Craft Fair will be held in a new location, the nearby and recently completed Washington Public Works garage. It too is located within the complex, and is ideally suited for the Craft Fair because it “offers a much larger space for vendors,” the board reports.

The Parks and Recreation Board encourages residents to “come discover unique hand-made crafts,” many created by talented neighbors.

Some room for crafters remains available for the fair. Spaces and tables for vendors cost $15, and an application to reserve a place can be picked up in person at the township building. Those interested can also contact board Chair and Secretary Mark Bedle by e-mail at parks@washtwpberks.org, or call 267-236-2990 for more information.
