Arboretum Hosts ‘Haunted Woods’ Oct. 9-10 in Pottstown
POTTSTOWN PA – Expect the forest inside Althouse Arboretum echo with moans, wails, and the cries of spooky characters Oct. 9-10 (2025; Thursday and Friday)! That’s when the Green Allies non-profit organization holds its annual Halloween-themed Haunted Woods event from 7-9 p.m. both nights.
“Don’t miss the thrill of taking a walk along the (arboretum) trails at night to meet some of the terrifying supernatural beings inhabiting the woods,” its staff and volunteers insist. Althouse is located at 1794 Gilbertsville Rd.
When (or if) visitors emerge from the woods, they’ll find an outdoor screening “of our favorite horror films” to enjoy and food available for purchase, organizers add. Guests also can sit around an open fire and roast a marshmallow or two.
Be warned, though. Although the woods represent “a great haunted event,” according to the arboretum, it’s not for everyone. “Some scenes are intense and not appropriate for young children,” it says.
Tickets for the event cost $10 per person, and can be purchased at the entrance. For more information, call 267-371-2288 or send an e-mail to donna@green-allies.org.
