Yelp’s Wednesday List Names Best Wing Joints in Pottstown

POTTSTOWN PA – Nine restaurants within the 19464 and 19465 zip codes, and one six miles east of the borough (in Linfield), were named Wednesday (Sept. 24, 2025) on a Yelp review list of user-favorite locations for the best chicken wings in Pottstown.
“Chicken wings are like a blank canvas for sauces and seasoning,” Yelp proclaimed. “From classic buffalo to BBQ, garlic parmesan to honey mustard, find the right spot that is finger-licking good in Pottstown,” it urged.
Restaurants selected by California-based Yelp for its list were sorted by its subscribers’ “recommended” ratings for places that received comments on specific keywords. They included “chicken wings,” “hot wings,” “buffalo wings,” “chicken wing delivery,” “chicken wing takeout spots,” “chicken shop,” and “soul food.”

Magazine Shouts Out to Two Local Cider Producers

PHILADELPHIA PA – Two local producers of highly praised apple ciders – located in Boyertown and Kimberton, respectively – won rave reviews in this year’s “Pennsylvania Cider Guide.” The guide is written by Mike Landers and Robin Shreeves, and was published earlier this month in the “Foobooz” restaurant news section of Philadelphia magazine.
Lauded by the magazine for doing what they do well were the Frecon Farms Cidery, 501 S. Reading Ave., Boyertown; and Excursion Cider, 14 Prizer Rd., Kimberton.
The Frecons, Foobooz observes, are “another farming family honoring their fruit the way the founders intended: by turning it into booze … they’re making some of the best ciders in the region.” It suggests customers “try their traditionally made ciders” (blends of dessert and cider apples), or something a little earthier, like “their single-variety Golden Russet still cider.”
Excursion produces “small-batch ciders from locally pressed Pennsylvania apples, fermented on-site with minimal intervention,” the guide says. To accompany its beverages, it also serves up foods created in the state.
Foobooz favored Excursion’s Hot Sticky Sweet line, too. The authors say it “adds ingredients such as PA maple cider and chili peppers to create a sweet and spicy experience.”
Philadelphia magazine, by the way, publishes Foobooz as a newsletter, as well as eight others. Subscribing to any is free. See the entire list and choose your favorites, online.

KING OF PRUSSIA PA – Italian chain restaurant Maggiano’s Little Italy, which operates locally at 205 Mall Blvd., has introduced a two-course “Big Deal” meal. It hopes to offer patrons great dining accompanied by great value.

The entrées are Fettuccine Alfredo or Rigatoni alla Vodka, for $20; Fettuccine Alfredo with Parmesan-Crusted Chicken, Rigatoni alla Vodka with Italian Sausage, or Spaghetti and Wagyu Beef Meatball, for $25; and “The Grand” Chicken Parmesan, Maggiano’s Famous Rigatoni “D”, or Lasagna, for $30.
For any entrée and salad pairing, guests can sweeten the deal by adding dessert. Either House Made Tiramisu or New York Style Cheesecake are offered for an additional $5.
