POTTSTOWN PA – Starting conversations about “end-of-life planning in a relaxed environment, among friends,” is the goal of the first Live Well, Leave Well event hosted by the TriCounty Active Adult Center (TRAAC). It is scheduled for Oct. 3 (2025; Friday) at 4:30 p.m. in the center, 288 Moser Rd.
“It’s not fun to think about,” TRAAC Executive Director Brian Parkes acknowledges, “but we are all going to come to the end of the road someday. Planning ahead can take the burden off of your family during a difficult time, and ensure your wishes are carried out.”
The evening will begin with cocktails and music by harpist Betsy Chapman, followed by dinner. Raffles, and an epitaph “roast” of Parkes, can be expected to keep the mood light. Thanks to sponsorships, the event is free for those who attend. Advance registration is required by Sept. 30 (Tuesday); call 610-323-5009, Extension 101.
Described as a planning and legacy event, representatives of several businesses offering related services will attend. They include the following estate planners, funeral homes, cemeteries, memorial makers, and others:
- Houck & Gofus Funeral Home,
- Wolf Baldwin & Associates,
- Highland Memorial Park,
- Humanity Gifts Registry,
- Home Stream,
- Bert Rasmussen,
- Peace of Mind,
- the Montgomery County Bar Association,
- Warker-Troutman Funeral Home,
- Gofus Memorials, and
- Weaver Memorials.
