Blobfest 2025 Oozes Into Phoenixville on July 11-13

Blobfest 2025 Oozes Into Phoenixville on July 11-13

May 27, 2025

PHOENIXVILLE PA – Calendars in Phoenixville and elsewhere are already marked! Blobfest 2025 is scheduled for July 11-13 (Friday through Sunday) at The Colonial Theatre, 227 Bridge St.

Blobfest, an annual multi-day event at The Colonial, celebrates the theatre’s history with – and role in – the 1958 science fiction and horror film “The Blob.” Founded in 2000, Blobfest regularly attracts fans from many states to the renovated and expanded local venue.

Additionally, The Colonial also offers a weekly schedule of movies and live performances.

For die-hard Blob-lovers, as well as those who want to enjoy the event’s several cultural experiences, the theatre is offering a variety of packaged options. They are collectively labeled as “Camp Blobfest,” but its also sells single-program tickets. Tickets are available now for online purchase.

On the Blobfest Schedule

The Stage Show and Run Out, and The Blob Ball, represent the most coveted of tickets.

The Run Out is a re-creation of the movie’s famous scene, in which patrons flee the theater in an attempt to escape being eaten alive by the expanding, oozing alien mass.

The ball is described as “a retro-dance” event, for which The Colonial’s lobby is transformed into a 1950’s rock n’ roll dance party featuring music, drinks, dancing, and dress up! Only those age 21 and older are admitted.

The theatre’s list of Blobfest 2025 events include:

  • The Stage Show and Run Out, July 11 (Friday) at 7:30 p.m.
  • The Blob Ball, July 11 at 9 p.m.
  • Showings of the 1958 movie, “The Blob,” July 12 (Saturday) at 11 a.m., 4 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. (the 6:30 program only includes a second run-out); and July 13 (Sunday) at 1:30 p.m.
  • Showing of the movie “Harry and the Hendersons,” July 12 at 11:30 a.m.
  • Showing of the movie “Flash Gordon,” July 12 at 1:30 p.m.
  • Showing of the movie “La Masa Devoradora,” the Spanish-language title of “The Blob,” on July 12 at 3 and 6:30 p.m., and July 13 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Showing of the movie “Addams Family Values,” July 12 at 5:30 p.m.
  • Showing of the movie “Evil Dead 2,” July 12 at 9 p.m.
  • Camp-O-Rama, the Matt McGinnis’s Movie Riffing Melee, July 13 at 4 p.m. It features Matt McGinnis of “Mystery Science Theater 3000″ and his assistant, Roxie. They will present five campy shorts riffed live by the audience. The program ends with the campiest finale of them all: Blobfest’s first wedding!
  • Showing of the movie “Gremlins 2: The New Batch,” July 13 at 7:30 p.m.

More Downtown in the Borough

Blobfest also takes to the streets in downtown Phoenixville, with a Street Fair that’s free and open to the public. The theatre reports the 2025 fair features more than 70 vendors, and live bands and disc jockeys. It also presents a schedule of stage-show activities that include

  • Fire Extinguisher Parade, 11 a.m.;
  • DJ Shawn Cephas, noon;
  • Costume Contest, 1 p.m.;
  • Beach Creeper, 2 p.m.;
  • UNCLE, 3 p.m.; and
