OAKS PA – Joe Webster was in senior listening mode Thursday morning (May 1, 2025).
Webster, state representative for Pennsylvania’s 150th House District, arrived at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks shortly after his 2025 Senior Fair opened there at 10 a.m. He was dressed casually, and greeted all visitors with a warm smile and open ears.
The 150th covers Collegeville and Trappe boroughs; Upper Providence, Lower Providence and West Norriton townships; and all or parts of their respective school districts. Most of those in attendance were the district’s older constituents.

The annual fair intends to connect senior citizens with needs, to programs that could help meet them. Ahead of the event, Webster noted his office continues to serve seniors in preparing property tax and rent rebate applications, applying for SEPTA senior fare cards and disability placards, securing food vouchers, and learning about other essential programs.
But as members of his staff noted during the morning, hearing what’s on their minds is just as important as providing them with assistance and information.
Some guests offered praise and thanks for how his staff had solved problems. Others expressed concerns over a variety of government-related topics. A few just wanted to say hello, shake a hand, and put a face to the name.
A Hall Full of Help

There was plenty of information available Thursday in the expo center hall. Tables filled with brochures, booklets, and give-aways lined its walls. Among those with displays were officials from several local, county, state, and federal agencies.
They included representatives of the Montgomery County Prothonotary, Treasurer, Voter Services, and District Attorney’s offices; the Office of Aging Services, Clerk of Courts, and Department of Public Safety.
Also on hand were staffers from the offices of Congressional Rep. Madeleine Dean, the state Department of Banking and Securities, and the Public Utility Commission. The remainder were vendors who offered products, services, and advice.
Like Webster, all seemed to have their ears tuned in, too.
