Wednesday’s A Dancing Night at Lower Pottsgrove School

December 13, 2024

POTTSTOWN PA – A night of dancing, fun activities, and door prizes is being offered with free admission Wednesday (Dec. 18, 2024) in a collaboration by Pottsgrove Recreation and Stompin’ Boots.

The event starts at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria of Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School, 1329 Buchert Rd. It’s open to participants age 16 and older, and features music, line dancing, the prizes, and light refreshments.

Pottsgrove Recreation “is the central recreational organization” of the Lower, Upper, and West Pottsgrove township, and the Pottsgrove School District, its website explains. All four annually supply funding for its operations. It intends to “provide recreation for residents of the various Pottsgrove communities. Funding is provided by the three townships and the school district.

For more information, call Pottsgrove Recreation at 484-624-2507.

Winter Festival a Saturday Activity at Arboretum

Monday’s A Dancing Night at Lower Pottsgrove School

POTTSTOWN PA – To thank the greater Pottstown community for its continued support, Althouse Arboretum at 1794 Gilbertsville Rd. says it will hold a Winter Forest Festival on Saturday (Dec. 14) from 1-3 p.m.

Admission to the event is free. However, the arboretum this season is collecting canned goods to benefit Preston’s Pantry, and all donations are appreciated.

The day’s event will include decorating a tree, cookies, and wrapping paper; other craft activities, a forest walk, games, and food and beverages. All will be held outdoors, so come sufficiently bundled up for whatever the weather brings.

The arboretum is operated by Green Allies.

Needs at Preston’s Pantry

Among current food needs at the pantry – according to its operator, the non-profit Boyertown Area Multi-Service – are canned soups, tuna, meat-related meal products such as Chef Boyardee, Manwich, and Spam; pancake mix, pancake syrup, pasta sauce, rice, crackers, canned fruits, ceral, instant mashed potatoes, and pasta sides.

Hygiene product needs are laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, bar soap, dish soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and deodorant.
