POTTSTOWN PA – These early week items of entertainment and civic interest are scheduled for Monday through Thursday (Feb. 19-22, 2024), and have been publicly announced.

Monday, Feb. 19

  • Presidents Day federal holiday, most local municipal offices closed
  • The Great Backyard Bird Count (Feb. 16-19, Friday through Monday), any time, free, the annual international bird count conducted by the National Audubon Society and the Cornell University Ornithology Lab, public participation welcomed from Montgomery, Berks, and Chester counties PA

Tuesday, Feb. 20

  • Hearing on Public Transit Policy, starts at 10 a.m., free, conducted by the PA House Majority Policy Committee, via video link and in person at the Irvis Office Building, Room G-50, Commonwealth Avenue, Harrisburg PA
  • Community Blood Drive, 1-7 p.m., free, donations of all blood types needed, sponsored by Friendship Ambulance, state Sen. Katie Muth, and the Miller-Keystone Blood Center, ample parking available, at Friendship Ambulance, 269 Green St., Royersford PA
  • Operations and Facilities Committee Meeting, 5:30-7 p.m., free, open to the public, a district budget discussion is planned by this committee of the Pottsgrove School District Board of School Directors, held in the Pottsgrove School District offices, 1301 Kauffman Rd., Lower Pottsgrove PA
  • Lower Pottsgrove Planning Commission meeting, starts at 6:30 p.m., free, in the township municipal building, 2199 Buchert Rd., Lower Pottsgrove PA
  • Curriculum, Integration, & Technology Committee Meeting, 7-8:30 p.m., free, open to the public, discussions covering these topics in the Pottsgrove School District, with recommendations to Pottsgrove School District Board of School Directors, held in the Pottsgrove School District offices, 1301 Kauffman Rd., Lower Pottsgrove PA

Wednesday, Feb. 21

  • Weekly Constituent Service, 9 a.m. to noon, free, for residents of the 24th PA Senatorial District by Sen. Tracy Pennycuick’s staff, or call 215-541-2388, in North Hall at the Pottstown campus of Montgomery County Community College, 16 E. High St., Pottstown PA
  • “African Americans’ Hair Art & Fashion,” a virtual discussion noon to 1:30 p.m., free to attend, register online, presented by the Montgomery County Black History Month Committee in Norristown PA
  • Yoga at the Perk, 7-8 p.m., ticketed, all levels welcome, led by yogi Lisa Maida, hosted by the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy; participants must bring water, a yoga mat, and a towel; depending on weather yoga may be held indoors or outdoors, held at the conservancy, 1 Skippack Pike, Schwenksville PA
  • Play: “Everybody,” 7:30-9:30 p.m., ticketed (purchased online), described as a re-imagined medieval morality play presented “as a fresh and hilarious take on our modern world,” in the Black Box Theater at the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center on the campus of Ursinus College, 601 E. Main St., Collegeville PA

Thursday, Feb. 22

  • Weekly ‘Scrabble’ Game, starts at 10 a.m., free, Boyertown Community Library, 24 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown PA
  • Play: “Everybody,” 7:30-9:30 p.m., ticketed (purchased online), described as a re-imagined medieval morality play presented “as a fresh and hilarious take on our modern world,” in the Black Box Theater at the Kaleidoscope Performing Arts Center on the campus of Ursinus College, 601 E. Main St., Collegeville PA
