Hoped to Gorge on Chocolate in Oaks? That’s Sold Out

Hoped to Gorge on Chocolate in Oaks? That’s Sold Out

January 28, 2024

OAKS PA – The nearly impossible ticket to buy for a Saturday (Feb. 3, 2024) event is one that continues to remain unavailable, for the “Philly Chocolate, Wine, & Whiskey Festival 2024.”

It will be held inside the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, 100 Station Ave, and a few hundred fortunate people will attend. For the rest of those interested, according to the Eventbrite website where tickets were being offered at prices of between $74 and $96 each, the festival (as of Sunday, Jan. 28) is sold out.

All tickets – for two VIP Previews, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 5-9 p.m., as well as two general admission sessions, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. – are gone.

For those who paid sufficiently in advance, a general admission ticket entitles the bearer to three hours of “unlimited tasting of chocolate, wines, spirits, and other beverages, boozy milkshakes and candy cocktails sampling every hour, and (a) chocolate fondue bar.” Non-alcoholic beverages will be offered when requested as a substitute for heartier liquids.

If you’re hungry for more than chocolate, the festival also supplies “a wide assortment of desserts, cookies, macarons, candies, artisan cheeses, and charcuterie.”

The VIP ticket? It provides all of that, plus an extra hour of “early access (as well as a) private reserved area with tastings” of rare or unique whiskeys and champagnes.

If you didn’t land your admission choice quickly enough, however, the organizer offers a waiting list. The event will be held indoors, rain or shine. A suggestion: join the list (particularly if you feel lucky), but don’t hold your breath in the interim.

Or, you could go elsewhere

There are some attendance alternatives. You could be among the festival crowd in any one of seven other locations. If you’re so inclined, don’t wait for tickets at them either. The event also is scheduled for Feb. 17 in Richmond VA, Feb. 24 in Pittsburgh, March 9 in Nashville TN, March 23 in Buffalo NY, April 6 in Charlotte NC, Sept. 14 in Brooklyn NY, and Nov. 9 in Louisville KY.

As might be expected, the festival is a age-21-and-older-only affair; no children are allowed. Neither are pets, unauthorized vendors, outside alcohol, or illegal substances.

For those who imbibe, be aware: no designated drivers are available. The organizer, TasteUSA Festival Management, reminds visitors to “drink responsibly.” It recommends guests rely on third-party drivers for transportation to and from the show. Ample parking is available for those who drive themselves or make arrangements for their own drivers.

Editor’s Note: Readers are urged to use EXTREME care in responding to any offers regarding ticket re-sales by individuals or other entities. There are NO printed tickets offered for the event. The event organizer reports “tickets will NOT be mailed” to purchasers, and that buyers will receive and present for admission only “a printed copy of the email confirmation” received when they placed an order OR which appears on “your Eventbrite app on your phone.” Beware of any re-seller who claims otherwise. Also, those with e-mail confirmations “MUST HAVE A VALID ID AND BE OF LEGAL DRINKING AGE (21 OR OLDER) TO ATTEND THE EVENT,” the organizer reports.
