Storm Work Creates Skippack, Lower Salford Lane Closures

Storm Work Creates Skippack, Lower Salford Lane Closures

January 29, 2024

SKIPPACK PA – Work to upgrade storm water management and related facilities began Monday (Jan. 29, 2024) in portions of Skippack and Lower Salford townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. The local effort is part of projects valued at $14.9 million on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region, it added.

As a result, drivers can expect potential traffic disruptions. The department said a lane closure would occur Monday through Friday (Jan. 29 to Feb. 3) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily on Cross Road, between state Routes 113 and 73, across Skippack and Lower Salford.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said. The work schedule depends on acceptable weather. Highway Materials Inc. of Flourtown is the general contractor on the projects.
