Homecoming Weekend Friday Launches in Spring-Ford

Homecoming Weekend Friday Launches in Spring-Ford

September 28, 2023

ROYERSFORD PA – Homecoming weekend events in the Spring-Ford Area School District kick-off Friday (Sept. 29, 2023), and continue through Saturday afternoon (Sept. 30), the district reminded its residents.

On its schedule are:

  • The annual Powder Puff football game, which begins Friday at 6 p.m. in Coach McNelly stadium, located behind the 9th Grade Center, 400 S. Lewis Rd. Junior and senior girls compete against one another, with male classmates serving as cheerleaders. Tickets are available online. All proceeds benefit the Warrior Scholarship.
  • The long-standing tradition of a Spring-Ford student parade. It proceeds Saturday at noon across several downtown Royersford streets. Main Street will be closed to traffic during the event. A parade route map is available online. The parade features the talents of Spring-Ford’s award winning Golden Ram Marching Band, its chorus, and the Spring-Ford Middle School Band. Various high school clubs also will be included. Athletic team members, school board directors, local dignitaries, local fire companies, and the district’s Rowdy Ram mascot are anticipated to make appearances.
  • The parade ends with a community picnic provided by the Spring-Ford Educators Association.
  • Finally, celebrate the weekend by joining fellow Ram fans Saturday at 2 p.m., as Spring-Ford’s team takes on Owen J. Roberts in a football game at Coach McNelly stadium. Tickets are available online. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. for pre-game festivities. They include musical performances and the introduction of the high school Homecoming Court.
