PHILADELPHIA PA – Know local small business owners who are working their tails off to be successful? Someone who is demonstrating “exceptional innovation, growth, community engagement, or resilience” in their communities? The Philadelphia-based district office of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) wants to know who they are.
They could qualify for a state or national award.
“Don’t miss the opportunity to honor the entrepreneurial spirit that drives our economy forward,” the SBA said. “Put them in the spotlight by submitting a nomination package.” By the way, it added, “self-nominations are encouraged and accepted.”
The SBA called Monday (Sept. 11, 2023) for nominations for its 2024 National and District Small Business Week Awards. They include the annual Small Business Person of the Year Award. Last year’s winners included businesses in Allentown, Danville, Lancaster, Philadelphia, Reading, and Wayne. The group represented business services, food, health, technology, manufacturing, and retail industries.
See the SBA’s website to download forms, criteria, and guidelines for submitting nominations in any of nine different categories. Eastern Pennsylvania District guidelines and district awards categories can also be found online. The submission deadline is Dec. 4 (Monday) at 4 p.m.
