About Travels With The Post, and The Post Publications
Joe Zlomek

Joe Zlomek, The Post Publications’ owner, publisher, and managing editor, is an accredited and award-winning photographer and writer. He has spent more than 50 years as a journalist.

Zlomek also is in his fourth decade as a freelance writer and photographer for trade and magazine publishers.

He has retired from producing news stories daily for other units of The Post Publications. Find Zlomek’s Linked-In profile here.

The Post Publications were founded in 2008

The Post Publications of Sanatoga PA has served residents of municipalities and school districts across western Montgomery, eastern Berks, and northern Chester counties of Pennsylvania since Aug. 25, 2008.

Its publications formerly included editions for the communities of Sanatoga, Limerick, Pottstown, Schwenksville, Gilbertsville, Mont Clare, and Upper Perkiomen, all in Montgomery County; Boyertown, Bally, Bechtelsville, and Birdsboro in Berks County; and Phoenixville and Spring City in Chester County.

All websites except its Travels edition were discontinued and taken offline in mid-June 2023 with Zlomek’s retirement. Their individual Facebook pages (linked in the paragraph above) remain to continue distributing news for those communities.

The company currently also administers the Facebook group pages of Pottstown Foodie (circulation 2,500), the Pottstown Arts Cultural Alliance (circulation 500), and Pottstown News and Announcements (circulation 2,300).

Honors for The Post Publications

The Posts, as they are collectively known, were created to specialize in intensely local (also known as “hyper-local” or “micro-local”) news coverage similar to that of weekly newspapers, but presented on a daily basis. Through May 2023, The Posts’ network served a Google Analytics-verified circulation of more than 58,000 unique and active readers.

  • Columbia Journalism Review, the nation’s oldest media monitoring publication, selected The Sanatoga Post as a feature subject in March 2012 as part of its “Guide To Online News Start-Ups” series.
  • The Sanatoga, Limerick, and Pottstown editions were chosen in 2010 by former Reynolds Journalism Institute Fellow Michele McLellan as among the 14 best mini-sites in the U.S. for community news.
  • The Sanatoga edition’s daily headline feed, e-mailed to readers, won “All-Star Awards” in 2012, 2011 and 2010, from national e-mail vendor Constant Contact.
