PENNSBURG PA – A German folk music concert will be presented Sunday (June 29, 2025) from 5-6:30 p.m. by the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, as it participates in a multi-county “Passport To History” weekend.
The concert represents only part of several activities being held Friday through Sunday (June 27-29) – many of them for free – at the Schwenkfelder, 105 Seminary St. The center is joining about a dozen other museums and historic sites that will conduct no-cost or low-cost activities across the Lehigh Valley region during the three-day period.
Specifically planned at the Schwenkfelder are:
- Its continuing policy of free admission to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays from 1-4 p.m.;
- A newly installed exhibit titled “Ocean,” a quilt show that is appearing at international venues;
- Another new exhibit by the Pottstown Area Artists Guild, featuring entrants in its 2025 annual Juried Fine Arts Show;
- A free drop-in make-and-take craft program for all ages scheduled for Saturday (July 28) fro 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It offers folk art nature crafts with stencils and paint; and
- The Sunday evening concert, “Hiwwe wie Driwwe Tour 2025.”

Musician Scott Reagan and ‘Pälzer Krischer’ Perform Live
Seats remain available for the concert that presents folk musician and Schwenkfelder descendant Scott Reagan, and a German folk band, “Pälzer Krischer.” They will perform Pennsylvania Dutch folk music, as well as some songs in a Palatine German dialect that is closely related to PA Dutch.
Concert tickets cost $3 per person, and can be reserved in advance by sending an e-mail to info@schwenkfelder.org, or by calling 215-679-3103. Tickets also will be sold at the door if seating permits. Doors open at 4:30 p.m.
The Schwenkfelder is the regional history museum for the Upper Perkiomen Valley. Its events during the 3-day period are part of a lengthy list of activities offered during the “Lehigh Valley Passport to History Weekend.”
Other Local Museums Involved Too
Also participating during the passport weekend are the Boyertown Area Historical Society at Bahr’s Mill; and Historic Trappe, both on Saturday.
