Met-Ed Tree Trimming in Lower Pottsgrove Ignores Rain

Met-Ed Tree Trimming in Lower Pottsgrove Ignores Rain

June 17, 2025

SANATOGA PA – An effort by contractors to clear tree limbs that endanger Metropolitan Edison (Met-Ed) power lines continues Tuesday (June 17, 2025) in Lower Pottsgrove.

Workers assigned by the utility company, which serves a northern portion of the township, so far are remaining relatively dry Tuesday as they make trimming progress along several local roads. That couldn’t be said a day earlier (Monday, June 16), as heavy rain pelted crews during much of the morning.

Travels With The Post cameras found them getting soaked Monday on North Sanatoga Road, near its intersection with North Pleasantview Road. Crews during Tuesday are working farther east.

Met-Ed earlier said its tree-trimming efforts are routine.

Increasingly inclement weather, due in part to what some experts claim is climate change, could bring tree limbs and branches down atop the power lines and cause power outages.
