PHOENIXVILLE PA – “The Tin Woman,” a play that explores “explore loss, family, and what it means to be given new life,” is scheduled for a run of eight performances from March 14-30 (2025) at The Forge Theater, 241 First Ave.
The play, written by Sean Grennan and based on a true story, is directed by Suki. It “uses humor and pathos” to tell the story of Joy, who enters a downward spiral after receiving a heart transplant. “Instead of relishing life,” she is “unsure whether she truly deserves a second chance.”
“Meanwhile, Alice and Hank mourn the loss of their son, Jack, whose heart was used to save Joy. At a friend’s urging, Joy tracks down Jack’s family to find closure. But are Alice, Hank, and their daughter Sammy ready to accept Jack’s death?”
The cast includes Rebecca Robbins as Joy, Miles Noecker as Jack, Elizabeth Toner as Alice, Kevin Wade as Hank, Lindsey Smith as Sammy, and Marcella Ng as Nurse/Darla.
Shows are scheduled for March 14-15, March 21-22, and March 28-29 (Fridays and Saturdays, respectively), all starting at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday matinées March 23 and 30, both at 2 p.m.
Ticket pricing at The Forge Theater is $20 for adults, $17 for those age 62 and older, and also $17 for those age 17 and younger. Tickets for “The Tin Woman” are currently available to the theater’s members and passholders, and go on public sale beginning Feb. 17. When publicly offered, ticket orders can be placed online. At The Forge Jan. 31 to Feb. 16
“The Play That Goes Wrong” – written by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, and Jonathan Sayer, and directed by Marsha Amato-Greenspan – is scheduled to appear at The Forge Theater for eight performances from Jan. 31 to Feb. 16.
Its website reported, as of Saturday (Jan. 25), that all seats for all performances are sold out. However, prospective purchasers can apply online to be added to its waitlist.
