POTTSTOWN PA – For Pottstown area residents, the National Weather Service indicates local weather threats during the next four days are likely to be low temperatures and gusting winds.
As a winter storm heads east through Monday night (Jan. 6, 2025), the weather service office in Mount Holly NJ predicts winds from the northwest could blow at speeds ranging from only 5 miles per hour to gusts of up to 35 mph.
Combined with temperatures that vary from lows in the 20s to highs around the freezing mark, weather-related problems may arise for those inadequately dressed for them. Ice also may create hazardous driving conditions, and slip-and-fall problems.

South of the Borough, An Advisory
For the 19465 zip code, the portion of Pottstown south of the Schuylkill River, the weather service issued an additional “winter weather advisory” that remains in effect until Friday at 10 p.m.
“Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions,” it warned.
It also urged caution for 19465 drivers and pedestrians alike. “Slow down and use caution while driving,” it stated. “If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall and injury.”
The advisory covered, in part, both western and eastern Chester County and the municipalities of Oxford, Kennett Square, Honey Brook, and West Chester.
