A Gnome-Inspired Christmas from Gazzo’s Steaks
POTTSTOWN PA – Gazzo’s Steaks, 22 S. Hanover St., has launched a Christmas-oriented fund-raising drive for charity, and also is asking its customers which non-profit should be the beneficiary.
The highly popular restaurant tapped local artist Nick Bertsch (who frequently draws gnome characters in several guises) to create a gnome just for its use. The heavily bearded figure wears a pointed hat bearing Gazzo’s name and logo. It’s seen raising a clenched left fist covered by a boxing glove (an homage to restaurant owners’ movie favorite Rocky Balboa), and holding a steak sandwich in its right palm.
The gnome creation, printed as a magnet, is being sold at Gazzo’s registers for $5 each. “All the proceeds from each purchase are going to be donated to a charity of YOUR choice,” Gazzo’s told readers of its Facebook page Thursday (Sept. 5, 2024).
Additionally, management is going a step beyond: Gazzo’s says it will match all purchases.
Customers are asked to visit the restaurant Facebook page, make a comment on which charity they recommend and why, and tag the charity for recognition. The most recommended charity “will receive a big check hand-delivered by the Gazzos family,” it notes.
The fund-raiser runs until Dec. 22, allowing Gazzo’s “to sell as many gnomies as possible for the amazing charitable organization.” On Sunday (Sept. 8) alone, the restaurant says it sold more than 60 magnets for the cause.

Charlotte Street Coffee Honors Loyal Patrons
POTTSTOWN PA – Customers of the Charlotte Street Coffee Company, at 59 N. Charlotte St. in Pottstown and 30 E. Philadelphia Ave. in Boyertown, can now claim bonuses for their beverage purchases.
Charlotte Street Coffee launched its customer loyalty card program in late August. Now two weeks old, it allows patrons to receive an eighth drink free for every seven they buy. All they need do is present the loyalty card whenever making a beverage purchase in either store. Then count the visits as they add up to a bonus cup. Cards are available in both stores.
“We’ve been planning on doing this for a long time,” the company said in a Facebook post.

Sanatoga Pizza’s Grand Opening Was Grand Indeed
SANATOGA PA – Here’s another example of customer loyalty at work.
Sanatoga Pizza, which began operations during late July at 2209 E. High St. in Sanatoga village, held an official grand opening party Saturday (Sept. 7). Plenty of customers were said to have turned out, due in part to the celebratory gift the restaurant offered them in thanks.
During Saturday only, Sanatoga Pizza sold everything on its menu for 50% off.
Those who let Pottstown Foodie know about the offer (unfortunately, after the fact) generally say they were amazed by such generosity.
Buffalo Wild Wings Creates One-Day Burger Deal
ATLANTA GA – National Cheeseburger Day is Sept. 18, and FSR Magazine reports that Buffalo Wild Wings will observe the occasion with “a juicy deal” for customers. On that day only, guests at the restaurant can buy one burger and get another burger free.
The offer includes the company’s Triple Bacon Burger, its all-new Bacon Mac and Cheese Burger, the All-American Cheeseburger, and others on the menu. It is available for dine-in, as well as takeout and delivery.
Also, the deal is valid only for the chain’s Blazin’ Rewards members. Those who are not yet members can sign up on or before National Cheeseburger Day to receive the special.
Buffalo Wild Wings operates at locations in Oaks and King of Prussia.
