In this edition of Pottstown Foodie: TeeCee Foods is outfitting a Sanatoga storefront to produce its Nigerian and West African menu. El Guacamole restaurant in Lower Pottsgrove added a large dining deck. Two new cafés are planned in South Coventry and Limerick.
TeeCee Foods to Offer Its Nigerian Menu from Sanatoga
POTTSTOWN PA – The aromas of chicken and beef suya, grilled steak-cut catfish, and fried yam wafting over Sanatoga Village may be the signal that TeeCee Foods has arrived there.
TeeCee describes itself as a restaurant that offers Nigerian and West African specialties, often by the trayful, in Montgomery and Bucks counties. It has operated for more than two years with “pre-order and takeout only” by phone and via WhatsApp.
Think of the business, it suggests on Facebook, as a local “joint” that offers delicacies to be enjoyed “from the comfort of your home.” It also provides catering services.
However, since late 2023 its management has been planning to create restaurant space in Lower Pottsgrove Township. TeeCee is getting closer to realizing that goal, at 2162 E. High St. That’s the vacant Sanatoga Shopping Center storefront long ago occupied by OleTowne Jewelers.
The township issued required building permits for the location between December 2023 and March 2024. It included installation of new plumbing; electrical work, including switches and outlets; a commercial kitchen hood, duct work, fans, and a fire suppression system; and non-residential interior alterations.
All of that has taken time, and plenty of effort. Crews could recently be seen inside the space during both day and night hours. Those at the site have been upbeat, and talked with excitement about the future.
Construction is still in progress. Its opening date has not been announced.

Progress at El Guacamole Mexican Restaurant in Lower Pottsgrove
POTTSTOWN PA – There’s been exterior and interior progress at the soon-to-come El Guacamole Mexican Restaurant, 1192 N. Keim St.
Pottstown Foodie last reported on El Gucamole, at the southeast corner of North Keim Street and Buchert Road in Lower Pottsgrove Township, during mid-May.
Renovations had begun there in and around the building, which formerly held a series of pizzerias. The restaurant’s “coming soon” sign was already in place. Bright red, green, and yellow paint coated its siding.
More has happened since, workers report.
Inside, its appliances and stoves are installed, and were being tested during June. Outside, management made a substantial investment and built a large covered deck on the restaurant’s north wall. It is amply loaded with tables and seating, ready for dozens of people.
In mid-June, the restaurant also began advertising to hire bilingual waiters and waitresses. If you qualify and are interested, call 484-362-4663, according to its Facebook post.
Many people have inquired about an opening date. None has been announced yet, possibly because other tasks must be completed. It’s a sure bet, though, that management is looking forward to El Gucamole’s launch as much as its future customers.

Just A Mention About Cafés to Come
“Welcome to Bucktown Beans!” That’s the opening message of what is proclaimed to be “the first and only drive-thru coffee shop in South Coventry!” Its website promises to offer “consistent, efficient, delicious” products. For now, however, it has only signs up outside its location at 1111 Ridge Rd. in Bucktown, South Coventry Township (above), adjacent to the Scargill McClurken Insurance Agency.
Signage in the Limerick Square Shopping Center, at the corner of South Township Line and Buckwalter Road in Royersford, similarly is announcing the soon-to-come “Sona’s Courtyard Cafe.”
