ALLENTOWN PA – Brush cutting and bridge repairs will be the focus of Pennsylvania Department of Transportation maintenance in the coming week (April 1-7, 2024) on portions of U.S. Route 422 in Berks County, the department’s District 5 office reported.
Scheduled to be affected by road work, it said, are:
- U.S. Route 422 across various municipalities between the Lebanon and Montgomery County lines, for brush cutting during daytime hours, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Tuesday through Friday (April 2-5). Drivers are urged to use caution as they pass through work zones. Rain may delay the work’s progress, the office acknowledged; and
- U.S. Route 422 in Reading between Penn and Lancaster avenues, for bridge repairs during daytime hours, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., from Tuesday through Friday (April 2-5). The office said there will be a lane closure in the eastbound direction, and urged drivers to use caution. They also should expect delays, it added.
The district includes Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties.
