Plastic appliances, such as hair dryers, vacuum cleaners, humidifiers, toys, and similar items are NOT being accepted.
Additional fees apply of between $10 and $75 generally apply to flat-screen televisions, flat-screen computer monitors, cathode ray tube monitors, and conventional televisions. Pricing will be determined on site, and may depend on item type and size.
Assist other non-profits at the same time
If you’ve got unused plastic shopping bags or other similar light plastic materials taking up space at home, bring them to the recycling event as well. They will be accepted on behalf of a regional non-profit organization that weaves the plastic into waterproof sleeping mats that are distributed to the homeless.
Got unused or unwanted bicycles at home as well? Bring them too. Althouse volunteers will turn them over to Second Wind, a Gilbertsville-based non-profit that refurbishes and distributes bicycles to families in need.
