ROYERSFORD PA – A boil-water advisory currently remains in place until Saturday (Jan. 20, 2024) at 3:30 p.m. for Royersford area residents who rely on Pennsylvania American Water as their water supplier.
The utility told Royersford customers Thursday (Jan. 18) at 3:44 p.m. they should boil all water intended for drinking or cooking “until further notice.” Water should be brought to a “rolling boil” for at least a minute before being considered safe for consumption, the company said.
The utility reportedly explained it sent out its advisory after determining “an issue” resulted in a “loss of (a) chlorine feed for about 15 minutes.” The chemical is used to ensure water quality.
Pennsylvania American said the water “is OK for bathing, washing, and other common uses.” It also said customers likely would be updated on the boil advisory status within 48 hours.
