GILBERTSVILLE PA – Greg Herb, broker and president of Herb Real Estate Inc. at 1036 E. Philadelphia Ave., is being honored this week as one of two 2023 recipients of the National Association of Realtors’ Distinguished Service Award.
Acknowledgment of Herb’s efforts on behalf of the 1.5-million member organization of real estate brokers, sales licensees, and other industry professionals is part of a conference called 2023 NAR NXT. It’s occurring Tuesday through Thursday (Nov. 14-16, 2023) in Anaheim CA.
The award was established in 1979 to honor NAR members “who have made outstanding contributions to the real estate industry and who serve as leaders in their local communities,” the organization said. It is considered the highest honor an NAR member can receive.
Herb has helped real estate professionals …
Herb has been a real estate professional for more than four decades and has held several leadership positions within the association. They include serving as 2010 Region 2 vice president, which encompasses New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
A member of NAR’s Board of Directors since 1999, Herb chaired or served on numerous work groups and committees, including RPAC Fundraising Trustees, RPAC Major Donor Council, Federal Housing, Risk Management, Business Issues and Institute, Consumer Advocacy Outreach Board and Affiliate Advisory Board.
In 2009, Herb served as president of the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors and was selected as the association’s Realtor of the Year in 2010. In 2012, he received the state association’s Realtor Active in Politics Award.
… as well as his community
Herb is active in his local community, where he has served on the Board of Directors for the YMCA, The United Way; AMBUCS, an organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities; and the Boy Scouts of America, Hawk Mountain Council, where he received the Silver Beaver Award. He is a founding member and president of the non-profit Foundation for Boyertown Education.
Herb’s fellow Distinguished Service Award recipient was Kansas Realtor Mike McGrew.
