UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – A Pottsgrove Recreation class that provides basic all-in-one training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (at top), first aid, and the use of an automated external defibrillator is scheduled for Nov. 30 (2023; Thursday) from 6-8 p.m. at the Pottsgrove Middle School library, 1351 N. Hanover St.
It is the second of two separate classes offered by the local organization at a cost of $75. Registrations are being accepted now online. The earlier class was held Nov. 15.
Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certification valid for two years. It is valuable for those who need to be re-certified, as well as for those who have never had such training. Its lessons are suitable for teens, parents, grandparents, babysitters, child care providers, teachers, and anyone interested in knowing how to save a life, according to the Pottsgrove Recreation website.
Participants of all ages are welcome, it added. The first aid portion of the classes also includes training in the use of EpiPens®, which are auto-injector devices used to treat life-threatening allergic emergencies.
