CHARLESTOWN TOWNSHIP PA – Construction activities will continue next week on Hollow Road in Charlestown Township for replacement of storm water facilities, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.
Hollow Road will continue to be closed weekdays between Oct. 31 (2023; Tuesday) and Nov. 9 (Thursday) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, between Yellow Springs and Pikeland roads, PennDOT added. During those periods drivers will be directed to follow a posted detour route.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling near or through the work area. PennDOT reported backups and delays will occur. The contractor’s work schedule depends on acceptable weather.
The work is part of a larger, $14.9 million project involving several state highways in Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. The agency looks to improve storm water management on more than 90 state highways across the five-county Philadelphia region. Highway Materials Inc. of Flourtown is the general contractor.
