LIMERICK PA – Get a first-hand look Wednesday (Sept. 13, 2023) at how the Constellation Energy Corp. generating station in Limerick (LGS) “powers the community,” its representatives said.
The company will open its doors for a community day event from 4-7 p.m. at the generating station, 3146 Sanatoga Rd. It is free to attend and open to the public.
Participating families and individuals will have an opportunity “to learn more about the station, and the production of carbon-free electricity,” Constellation stated. “All divisions of the station will be showcased,” it added, and the event “will also include demonstrations (and) control room simulator tours.
Activities for all ages will be available, too. The community day includes complimentary food trucks and ice cream, and appearances by partner organizations and special guests. Miss America, Grace Stanke, is scheduled to make an appearance. For more information, see a page about the community day on Facebook.
The generating station is located about 21 miles northwest of Philadelphia. The plant produces enough carbon-free electricity to power the equivalent of more than 1.7 million homes, the company reported. Constellation said it is “the nation’s largest producer of clean, carbon-free energy and a leading supplier of energy products and services” to a variety of customers across the continental U.S.
