POTTSTOWN PA – Beat the heat with a treat! Staff members and volunteers of the YWCA Tri-County Area will conduct its annual ice cream social July 20 (2023; Thursday). The event, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., will be held at The Y’s newest building, The Complex, at 724 N. Adams St.
That’s just a short distance away from the Pottstown Play Streets program, scheduled for the same day and time at the borough’s Washington West Park, 433 West St. It’s being conducted by the Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department.
The ice cream social is free to attend and open to the public. It represents an “opportunity to network and have fun with people of all ages,” The Y said. Stop by to also “learn more about the YWCA mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity,” it suggested.
Tours of the Complex will be offered. Also available onsite will be information about programs and services from volunteer, vendor, performer, and community partners.
Learn ways to get involved with future events too, including the YWCA Week Without Violence planned for Oct. 16-21 on the 300 block of King Street in Pottstown. It encourages communities to gather and collectively challenge themselves to be the change they wish to see in the world.
Got questions? Send an e-mail to the YWCA at advancement@ywcatricountyarea.org, or see its events webpage.
Social sponsors include Constellation Energy and other generous community partners, according to The Y.
