NORTH COVENTRY PA – Philadelphia-based American Heritage Credit Union, which this year observes its 75th anniversary, is giving a gift to its Pottstown area customers. It already operates a branch on Old Reading Pike in Stowe. Soon it will open a second location outside the Shoppes at Coventry in North Coventry Township.
The credit union is occupying the former Bank of America branch office at 351 W. Schuylkill Rd., which had been vacant for several years. Interior and some exterior wall renovations began several weeks ago, and are continuing. An opening date has not yet been announced.
Signage has already been erected on the exterior of the building. Last November the credit union also sought township zoning approval for a special stand-alone sign.
American Heritage currently operates locations across parts of Montgomery, Philadelphia, Bucks, Delaware, and Camden counties. It claims to be “one of the top 75 largest credit unions in the United States.”
The credit union in June said it was recognized by two different organizations for excellence in member communications and marketing strategy. The national Marketing Association of Credit Unions presented American Heritage with five awards. Separately, the regional Philadelphia Direct Marketing Association presented the company with its People’s Choice Award and six other honors.
“As a member-owned credit union, we always strive to provide outstanding, personalized communications, business partnerships, and financial wellness,” credit union Marketing & Business Development Senior Vice President Mike Dinneen said. “We are honored to be recognized by our peers in the credit union movement, as well as regionally by some of the most respected brands in the Philadelphia area.”
